Clare Whitlock

Attorney

Clare helps families plan ahead for illness, old age and death, and helps them settle things afterward.

Clare started this practice to be the kind of lawyer families want when things are hard: someone who explains the steps plainly, answers the phone, and doesn't rush anyone in the room.

Her work is planning and estates, and nothing else: wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives, probate and estate administration, and planning for long-term care. She meets with clients herself, writes their plans, and stays in touch when the law or the family changes.

She often works with two generations at once, and is careful to make sure that the person signing is the person deciding.

The practice

A small office on Haywood Street, on purpose

We keep the practice small so that the person you meet is the person doing your work. There are two of us: Clare, and Jonah Price, our paralegal.

Jonah schedules meetings, gathers documents, and keeps estate paperwork moving between you, the bank and the Clerk's office. If you've called and a calm voice took down the details, that was probably him.

If a trip downtown is hard, tell us. Most conversations can happen by video, and we'll talk about other arrangements for signing.
